There are 3 things that you should never purchase on Amazon.com unless they're deeply discounted:
1. Items over $100 are usually a better deal elsewhere.
2. Electronics (i.e. TVs, laptops) are usually a better deal elsewhere because a lot of electronics retailers will offer special rates on big ticket items. These great deals are meant to get you in their store to buy more from them but if you remain focused, you'll be fine.
3. Photography supplies, especially expensive cameras and equipment. Specialty photography retailers are facing a lot of competition today so they're doing all they can to remain competitive.
